Building a Stronger Foundation

Infrastructure within the City of Fredericton is considered the best in the province and among the best in the country. Improving that infrastructure even further continues today on a number of fronts as Fredericton focuses on diversifying its manufacturing sector even more.


Gateway to the Atlantic Region, The Runway is Fredericton’s newest business park network. It’s an 18-km corridor stretching from the City’s western border to the Fredericton Aerospace and Defence Park in the east, encompassing the Knowledge Park, southside business and industrial parks and the city’s uptown commercial core. The Runway parallels the four-lane Trans Canada Highway and is just one hour from US Interstate 95, making it an ideal location for new and growing businesses.

All industries benefit from an advanced communications infrastructure. Fredericton’s Fred-eZone, the first for a Canadian municipality, offers free unlimited Wi-Fi access throughout the city. Anyone with a Wi-Fi enabled laptop can access e-mail, calendars or the Internet from most municipal public areas.
